2km along the coast and 3,5km inland including walking across the sand to Burgh Island. a small part of section 50 in the SWCPA handbook.
The weather was not as bad as the forecast and so we drove along the “tidal road” – well it was low tide, to Bigbury-on-Sea and then walked back to the ferry landing place, only a few hundred yards from where we were this morning, but 20 miles by road.
Then back to the carpark for Burgh Island – fairly steep up and down and through a farm that seemed to be keener on the £2 for car parking than farming.
We walked across the sand to the Pilchard Inn, but due to the increasing rain and incoming tide thought it was better to return to the mainland.
