2025-03-23 Hayle to Godrevy

A small half of section 25 in the SWCPA handbook

7.8km along the coast and 7.3km inland

After a rather dull and cool winter we are starting again on our walk around the caost. We decided to stay at and Airbnb in Porthowan in the hope of making good progress. So having made an enjoyable stop at the Castle Inn in Lydford arrived at the National Trust car-park at Godrevy.

From here we crossed the Nature Reserve and then followed the road towards Hayle. After leaving the main road we followed a bridleway through some rather run down properties to Churchtown and then across the bridge – where we had a cup of tea in Asda. The route back although easy on the map, was across the sand, but a strong North West wind made it harder work, and the mist meant that wev missed the best of the views back to St Ives. However we got back to the car-park and drove the short distance to Porthtowan
