9.71km along the coast and 18.15km inland making a total of 27.8km – longest walk yet
We knew that this would be a long walk as the campsite that we would have liked to stay at was closed and so we were staying in Frodo ay Brixton. So, it was quite a long walk, though pleasant countryside, initially along a sunken lane, with wild garlic back to Wembury Beach, where we stopped for coffee.
Then along the coast to Bovisand where we stopped for lunch overlooking the almost deserted beach and empty carparks. Then on past military establishments, and the view of Naval ships. Past Jenny Cliff and to Mount Batton where we will resume the walk tomorrow.
On this stretch we met two people who were (separately) walking the whole path continuously and had come from Minehead
The route back was rather on – to continue the Coastal path and the take the Plym Earne trail, and a slight short-cut along a road then back along the sunken Lane to the campsite at Brixton.
