After a long walk yesterday, we decided to have an easy day. It was much more cloudy and later became windy.
We walked from the campsite, the same way as the previous day, and turned right. This lead over a relatively modest headland towards Bude. With good views on the town, the beaches and the cliffs between.
We passed the “Storm tower”, an octagonal building which had been recently restored after being moved for the second time.
Then across the sea lock, where the canal meets the harbour and had a coffee from a barge moored on the canal.
Then we walked across the sand and above the sea water pool. Now restored and run by a charity, the along the cliffs to Crocklets Bay.
We walked into the town and went to the Heritage centre, which has an excellent display of Bude’s history.
