The second half of section 15 in the SWCPA handbook
When we were walking along the path last September, due to poor weather and lack of time, we had missed this section so this was a chance to catch up. We parked at the council car park at Trebarwith Strand. All the cash only parking machines were out of order, so it was effectively free for the day.
After the short walk down to the beach – it was high tide, so no beach, but a few people swimming from the rocks, we started a step ascent, past the pub, the William Haven and then on upwards.
After a fairly short flat section, another steep valley and steps up. Then another fairly long flat clifftop and in some places a narrow path between hedges. But also good views back towards Padstow and beyond.
After another steep valley and more, generally fairly big steps we reached the top of hill where we had got to in September. So after stopping for a sandwich which we had bought at the Boscastle farm shop in the morning, it was a fairly simple route back to Trebarwith Strand. As it was now low tide, we stopped for a swim and Ice cream (Candlestick Farm) before moving Frodo on to out next campsite near Bude.
