2023-06-22 Mullion Cove to Church Cove

The remainder of section 34 and a small part of section 33in the SWCPA handbook

4.8 km along the coast and 5.2 km inland

As we were moving to another campsite and meeting a relation in the evening, we decided that it would be a good idea to do a shorter walk today. So, after buying supplies in the small shops in lizard village, we parked in Mullion village, there are two “donation” car parks in the pretty village which seems a good idea.

We walked down a fairly steep road back to Mullion Cove and the little harbour.

I was glad that I had read the guide as it pointed out that the path continued by going up steps just beyond the café. These looked as if they just lead to a house, but as we followed them, we came to the coastal path.

The path lead past the Mullion Cove hotel and then down to Polurrian cove, where, as it it was a hot day we had a swim. Then on to Poldhu cove for a picnic lunch in the Sand dunes. Poldhu is much more popular as it as a café, car park and even a surf-school.

We continued over the next headland to Church Cove, which has finer sand and so swam in the small waves then returned to Mullion up the road.
