13. Clacton-on-Sea
Clacton-on-Sea is a traditional “entertainment” Pier, with slot machines, Candy floss etc, but one of the best organised and maintained that we has seen. We have been to Clacton-on-Sea a few times, initially in July 2018, to catch the Waverley in October 2018 (but that is another story) and again in June 2019 for the National Piers Society AGM.
Clacton was the winner of “Pier of the Year” in 2020
