A small part of section 21 in the SWCPA handbook
4.11km along the coast and 4.79km Inland
We had booked a campsite at Seaview near Porthcothan and set out in Frodo quite early and so after a fairly easy journey arrived in Newquary at about 14:30. Then walked down to the harbour and as it was low tide we were able to walk a long way along the beach and eventually up to the cliffs at the northern end of Tolcarne beach.

Then along the grass at Barrowfields, past Lazy Glaze beach and, although deviating from the official path to Porth Beach where we stopped in a friendly shop for an Ice-cream.
Then back, this time along the official path to the centre of Newquay. Newquay, like quite a lot of Coastal towns, is a strange mix of upmarket new developments and downmarket “amusements” arcades. And again, not uncommonly there is no route along the clifftop which is owned, and so controlled by hotels and shops – there is a good view from the Aldi car-park

So back to the harbour and on to our campsite.
